Dhoni likely to hoist Indian flag in Leh on I-Day
MS Dhoni, an honorary Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army, is currently stationed in Khrew town of Pulwama district as part of the Indian Army's 106 Territorial Army Battalion.

Dhoni's regiment to travel to Leh on Aug 10
According to IANS, Dhoni is scheduled to advance towards Leh along with his battalion on August 10, defense sources said yesterday.
However, the official did not state the exact region where the cricketer is likely to unfurl the Indian tricolor.
To recall, Dhoni had joined the 106 TA Battalion in south Kashmir on July 31, as part of his two-week stint in the Army.
Dhoni is a brand ambassador of Indian Army: Senior official
Speaking to IANS, a senior army official said, "Dhoni is a brand ambassador of the Indian Army. He has engaged in motivating members of his unit and has often been playing football and volleyball with the soldiers."
The army official added, "He is also undertaking battle training exercises with the corps. He will remain in the valley till August 15."
Earlier this week, the Centre had revoked Article 370
On August 5, the Union government proposed The Jammu & Kashmir Reorganization Bill, 2019, in the Parliament.
It abrogated Article 370, revoking the state's special status and bifurcating the state into the Union Territories of Ladakh and J&K.
Earlier, the Centre had pulled tourists from the region, placed political leaders under house arrest, snapped all communication lines and deployed 35,000 troops in the region.
Dhoni took two-month sabbatical from cricket to serve the Army
Dhoni, who was accorded the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in 2011, completed basic training beforehand.
He's also a qualified paratrooper, having completed five parachute training jumps.
Dhoni will remain in J&K till August 15.
Tricolor to be hoisted in every J&K village on I-Day
As part of the Independence Day celebrations, the Centre has undertaken a program to hoist the Indian flag in every village across Jammu & Kashmir. According to the report, from June, the Central government had launched a community mobilization program across all 4,900 gram panchayats.
