In a shocking incident, a delivery agent for Amazon allegedly molested a woman at her flat in Noida on Monday.
The woman, 43, has alleged that an argument broke out between her and the agent following which the latter hypnotized her and subsequently attempted to rape her.
The police are currently on the look-out for the delivery agent.
Here are more details.
Delivery agent argued with woman over pick-up of returned items
The woman had filed a request with Amazon to return five small boxes, her complaint to the police stated.
At 11:20 am on Monday, the delivery agent, who identified himself as Bhupendra Pal at the society's entry register, arrived at her place and argued that he could accept only four boxes.
Following the argument, Pal left.
Woman complained about agent to customer care
Meanwhile, the woman complained to customer care. Her sister said, "She spoke to the customer care and complained about the delivery boy. They assured her that her return for all five boxes will be processed again on October 9 (Wednesday)."
Woman said Pal hypnotized her, lowered his pants
Reportedly, Pal returned to the flat within minutes and agreed to pick up the complete consignment.
The woman refused since she had spoken to customer care. Another argument followed and the man allegedly hypnotized her.
The woman said she blacked out momentarily and saw Pal with his pants lowered.
She obtained a wiper from the washroom and proceeded to thrash Pal, who then fled.
Woman's sister also called number provided by delivery agent
At 2 pm, the woman's sister arrived at the flat and checked the society's entry register. She called the number listed and the man on the other line said he had come from the Amazon pick-up office in Sector 58, Noida, before disconnecting the call.
