Pinky has now been booked for her infant daughter's murder.
Here are more details.
According to The Times of India, the incident took place in Aligarh district's Rampur village on Saturday evening.
Pinky had had an argument with her husband, Rahul, after he refused to take her shopping for clothes as he was unwell.
Frustrated, Pinky thrashed her six-month-old daughter, Soni. Unfortunately, Soni was beaten so brutally that she died.
Reportedly, Rahul has filed a complaint against his wife at the Jawan Police Station.
Based on his complaint, the police has registered a case against Pinky under Section 302 (Murder) of the Indian Penal Code. Pinky has also been arrested.
According to IANS, the incident was also filmed by someone, however, it remains unclear why the person did not intervene.
Jawan station in-charge Naresh Kumar Singh said that Pinky did not kill her daughter intentionally.
Singh said that Pinky was frustrated with domestic issues and constant arguments with her husband. She vented her frustration at her six-month-old, unbeknownst that the infant could die.
Rahul, a lock factory laborer, and Pinky had been married for four years. They also have a three-year-old son.
