Recently, shocking visuals of a group of miscreants shooting from the terrace of a hospital in Northeast Delhi had emerged.
Now, NDTV has accessed higher resolution footage of the incident.
The new video accessed by NDTV shows a man at the terrace of Mohan Nursing Home & Hospital firing shots below.
The shooter is seen wearing a black jacket and has a helmet over his head.
Others in the video can be seen throwing what look like stones and bottles from the rooftop. Many of these rioters have their faces uncovered.
Reportedly, the video was filmed on February 24 between 4-6 pm, a day after the violence started in Northeast Delhi.
The Mohan Nursing Home is located near the Wazirabad Road which separates the Hindu-dominated Yamuna Vihar and the Muslim-dominated Chand Bagh localities—both hit by the communal violence.
According to NDTV, the police is yet to initiate action on the video.
A Chand Bagh resident Ayesha told NDTV that she saw at least 50 people atop Mohan Nursing Home.
Dr. Anil Chauhan of the hospital had earlier told The Indian Express that four patients were admitted at the facility on February 24. However, seeing the violence escalate, they evacuated the hospital.
Dr. Chauhan surmised that the mob might have entered the hospital after they evacuated.
Reportedly, the mob took away all CCTV footage from the Mohan Nursing Home. When approached by NDTV, neither the hospital owner, Sunil Mohan, nor the Bhajanpura Police Station responded. The hospital notably falls within Bhajanpura Police limits.
The violence in Northeast Delhi was fueled by protesters for and against the contentious Citizenship Amendment Act. However, as the violence continued for three days, the region turned into a Hindu v/s Muslim battleground.
Thus far, 53 people have lost their lives, out of which, at least 12 were killed from gunshot injuries.
At least 97 others have sustained gunshot injuries.
Till Thursday, the police had reportedly registered 654 cases in connection with the violence, with 47 cases of Arms Act. 1,820 people had also been detained or arrested. The only known shooter arrested thus far is a man identified as Shahrukh.
