Coaches of Meerut-Lucknow Rajya Rani Express derailed

In yet another unfortunate train accident, 8 coaches of Meerut-Lucknow Rajya Rani Express derailed near Rampur.

According to initial reports, some people have suffered minor injuries. Further details are awaited.

This is the second incident of derailment in the past 15 days. On March 30, Mahakaushal Express also derailed in Uttar Pradesh.

Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath have announced a compensation of Rs. 50,000 each for the victims of the Rajya Rani express derailment.

Northern Railway spokesperson Neeraj Sharma clarified that there were no casualties in the crash, though several were seriously injured.

The state government has also announced compensation of Rs. 25,000 for victims with less serious injuries.
