A BJP lawmaker has been filmed in an objectionable position and is now being blackmailed by a gang to pay Rs. 5 crore, or risk having the pictures released in the public domain.
The gang also reportedly threatened to implicate the MP in a false rape case.
The Delhi police have launched a hunt for the suspects involved in the racket.

What had happened?
According to statements made by the MP to police, a woman had approached him for some help. She had asked him to accompany her to a house in Ghaziabad.
He was then offered a drink laced with sedatives, after which he fell unconscious.
When he regained consciousness he realized that he had been trapped. He was subsequently blackmailed by the woman and her friends.
This has happened before!
Police sources said that the same woman had trapped two other Parliamentarians in the same way last year. This was believed to be her gang's modus operandi. Despite knowing this, police have yet to arrest her.

What action is police taking?
Special commissioner Mukesh Meena said that based on the MP's complaint, police have registered an FIR under section 384 of the IPC for extortion.
A special team has been formed to investigate the case, and it may also be transferred to the crime branch or special cell of the Delhi police.
Police said the woman and her gang would be traced soon.

Woman who blackmailed parliamentarians sent to judicial custody
A woman who has allegedly honey-trapped and blackmailed at least three parliamentarians was sent to four-day judicial custody. Her latest target was K.C. Patel, a BJP MP from Gujarat, who she allegedly drugged, then shot obscene videos and blackmailed him.
She was arrested on May 2 from Ghaziabad.
Police will now take her voice sample and interrogate her.
