Amarnath: 16 pilgrims killed after bus falls into gorge

At least 16 pilgrims on the Amarnath yatra died and 35 others remain injured after a bus carrying them fell into a gorge in J&K's Ramban district on Sunday.

The accident took place on the Jammu Srinagar National Highway but the cause of the accident is yet unknown.

Meanwhile, rescue operations are currently underway.

The accident comes days after Amarnath yatris were killed and dozens were wounded after a terrorist attack.

This brings to light that a woman who was injured in the Amarnath terror attack also succumbed to her injuries at a Srinagar hospital today.

The death toll hence has reached 8 in the Anantnag terror attack .
