Flight with 154 passengers skids off runway
A Mumbai bound Jet Airways flight skidded off runway at Dabolim airport in Goa, on Tuesday.
Flight 9W 2374 spun 360 degrees on the runway while it was getting ready for a take off due to a technical snag.
All 154 passengers along with the seven crew members were evacuated safely; a few sustained injuries during evacuation.
The airport was closed down till 12:30pm.
Gold loan firm robbed off 33kg gold
A gold loan company was burgled and 33kg of gold worth Rs.10 crore was stolen.
The employees discovered a hole in the bathroom through which the robbers are suspected to have entered.
Police suspect it to be an insiders job as the guard, who was hired a week ago was also missing from the scene.
Wires of the CCTV cameras were also found cut.

Fadnavis interacts with students at 'Mood Indigo'
Devendra Fadnavis and high-profile anchor Arnab Goswami interacted with students at IIT-B's cultural festival Mood Indigo .

After his memorial, now Shivaji's forts to be conserved
The state government is in process to form a panel to conserve the forts built by Chhatrapati Shivaji.
Government has drawn the ire from a section which accused it for spending crores on the memorial when the existing forts by Shivaji are in a dilapidated condition.
PM has done the bhoomipoojan of Shivaji memorial which will be built at a cost of Rs.3,600 crore.

Pioneer gynecologist training for marathon, dies
Dr Rakesh Sinha, a leading gynecologist in the country and Guinness world record-holder died of myocardial infarction on Monday.
Sinha who used to run 10km every day and had participated in four marathons, was found fit in his recent medical check-up.
Sinha's death raised questions on intense exercise as a cause of heart attacks.
Sinha would have turned 60 on January 11.
Zonal restructuring of suburban railway fare
Mumbai Rail Vikas Corporation is planning to overhaul the suburban railway-fare.
Corporation aims to introduce zone-wise ticketing system where fares will be decided on the basis of zones and not distances.
First-class tickets are set to get cheaper whereas minimum second-class fare will see an increase of 100%.
Monthly ticket fares for short-distance second-class passengers will be doubled; long-distance passengers' fares will get cheaper.
Trapped leopard released with a chip
Forest authorities in Aarey colony have released the leopard, to its natural habitat, which was trapped on Friday.
Authorities trapped the leopard at Mathai Pada after locals complained of its frequent sightings.
Wildlife activists slammed the trapping calling it 'un-required' as the animal had done no harm.
Leopard was released after a micro chip was inserted into it to keep track of its movements.
