Transport Department issues confining notification
The transport department of Mumbai issued the final notification on the new city taxi scheme on Wednesday.
According to the notification, in order to drive for cab-aggregators like Ola and Uber, a driver will have to convert his All India Tourist permit to an "app-based taxi permit."
Drivers will also no longer have the privilege to operate across India once they register in Mumbai.
Global Clean Seas campaign took inspiration from Bombay's beaches
Top officials from the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) said the 'Clean Seas' global campaign launched in Indonesia in the last week of February took inspiration from clean-up efforts at Mumbai's beaches over the last 18 months.
Erik Solheim, UNEP head said the international campaign against marine litter in Bali, Indonesia, was influenced by the efforts of Mumbai residents to keep Versova Beach plastic-free.

Shiv Sena acquires 5th mayoral term in Mumbai
On Wednesday, Shiv Sena patriot Vishwanath Mahadeshwar was elected as the 76th Mayor of Mumbai.
Mahadeshwar said he would administer a coordination meeting between the state government and the BMC to fast-track city projects.
All of BJP's 84 corporators voted for Mahadeshwar, as promised by CM Devendra Fadnavis.
Before the election however, the BJP corporators were all chanting PM Modi's name.
Will register FIR against Eknath Khadse: State Government
The Maharashtra government told the Bombay High Court that an FIR will be registered against Eknath Khadse from the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) over allegations of corruption in the MIDC land deal.
The bench of justices directed the ACB to probe independently and expeditiously.
The bench also ordered the probe to be supervised by an officer not below the rank of Additional Director General.
Indian Army initiates internal inquiry
The Indian Army has initiated the process of Court of Inquiry (CoI) against 3 havaldar clerks who allegedly leaked the army recruitment question paper to coaching classes.
The racket was detected by Thane Police who have arrested 21 people since; 5 out of these 21 people have been imprisoned for 2 days.
