Mumbai: Two college-going youths detained for trafficking LSD from USA
Mumbai Police's anti-narcotics cell arrested five people, including two students from two well-known colleges in the western suburbs.
The aforementioned were held for drug trafficking; LSD (lysergic acid diethylamide), a psychedelic drug, worth Rs. 70 lakh was found on them.
All 5 were booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

Metro network to be extended to Mira-Bhayander and airport
CM Devendra Fadnavis said that the Metro rail networks will be connected from both the northern and southern parts of the city.
He further added that Metro lines 2 and 7 would be expanded up to Mira-Bhayander in the north and to the airport.
According to him, the state is planning to extend the 172-km planned Metro network to 200-km within few years.
BMC presents budget 2017-2018
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Wednesday produced its budget for the fiscal year 2017-2018.
The total size of the budget (Rs. 25,141 crore) is substantially smaller than the last fiscal's budget (Rs. 37,052 crore).
A provision of Rs. 1,000 crore was made for the coastal road project and Rs. 8127.08 crore has been allotted for capital expenditure which includes development and infrastructural projects.

HC asks government how it plans to assist resident doctors
On Wednesday, the Maharashtra government was directed by the Bombay High Court to file a report demonstrating how it would make better the unfortunate working and living conditions of resident doctors in the city's four civic hospitals.
The hospitals mentioned by the court are JJ Hospital (Mumbai Central), BJ Medical College (Pune), Government medical colleges in the Sangli district and Ambejogai in Beed district.
ED claims politician Chhagan Bhujbal laundered Rs. 291.71 crore
The Enforcement Directorate submitted its draft of its allegations against the Bhujbals and 51 other associates to the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court.
According to the allegations, Chhagan Bhujbal, leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) laundered Rs. 291.71 crore while his nephew laundered Rs. 359.30 crore.
ED also alleged that the Bhujbals and their associates have been laundering money since 2006.
High Court looks down upon journalists' apparel
On Wednesday, the Bombay High Court expressed its dislike over journalists covering court proceedings in casual clothing (denims and t-shirt).
Chief Justice Manjula Chellur asked if the same was a part of "Bombay culture."
The bench was hearing a petition challenging the refraining of resident doctors from work.
The Chief Justice also asked whether wearing such an attire to court was appreciated.
Gas pipe on Western Express Highway bursts
On Wednesday afternoon, the Mumbai traffic police brought down to a halt the north-bound traffic on the Western Express Highway.
This was because a CNG pipeline below a flyover in Malad had burst and even a slight spark caused by traffic could have led to a disaster.
The pipeline-burst affected CNG supply at 19 gas stations between Kandivali and Mira Road till late night.
