With FIFA U-17 World Cup to be hosted in India in October, the government authorities are leaving no stone unturned in promoting football among 10 lakh students across 25,000 educational institutes.

Schools and colleges equipped with football teams and grounds will be identified and their students will be provided with professional football training.

Police arrested Ashok Pradhan from Mumbai's CSTM on Wednesday for masturbating in front of two women on Nanded-bound Tapovan Express.

The incident came to light after a woman captured the whole act on camera and posted it on social media which went viral.

The same woman went to a police constable seeking help who didn't take any action. The cop has now been suspended.

The deadline for paying fees and finalizing seats is likely to be extended till 12pm Friday.

But final call will be taken depending on the number of confirmed seats by Thursday.

HealthNGO: 18 people die of TB everyday in Mumbai

After analyzing BMC's health data, NGO Praja concluded that patients dropping out of TB treatment have doubled in last five years in Mumbai, increasing from 9% in 2012 to 19% in 2016-17.

However, BMC officials were rather dismissive and said, "A health programme cannot be analyzed based on randomly gathered data using RTI."

According to Praja, government's TB control programme is flawed.

MaharashtraWalmart to invest Rs. 900 crore to open 15 stores

US global retail giant Walmart will invest Rs. 900 crore to set up 15 stores in Maharashtra, thereby, bringing in employment opportunities for thousands.

According to state government, these stores will generate 30,000 direct and indirect jobs in the state.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between state industries department and Walmart.

In April, Walmart had announced opening 50 new stores across India.

IMD forecasted heavy to very heavy rainfall in north Konkan coast, including Mumbai, from Thursday to Sunday.

"Our weather models have shown that the low pressure area over Gujarat will be pulling a lot of moisture from the sea along the Gujarat and north Konkan coastline in Maharashtra. The system will be active from July 13 and 14 till July 16," an official said.

Beef rowNagpur: Man lynched for allegedly carrying beef

A man was reportedly lynched by a group of four men in Nagpur's Bharsingi area, on suspicion of carrying cow meat.

The victim was brutally thrashed up. The victim told them repeatedly that he wasn't carrying beef but the men continued to beat him.

He has been admitted to hospital. Police have detained four accused and the investigation is underway.
