After two senior Bihar-BJP leaders were killed on 12 February, the Nitish-led-government got a 72-hour ultimatum from the state-BJP party.

Bihar BJP President, Mangal Pandey warned the state-government that if they fail to arrest the killers within the given time, BJP would call for a state-wide agitation.

Another BJP leader, Sushil Kumar Modi said that the state-government has failed to keep criminals under control.

A major Lok Janshakti Party leader, Brijnathi Singh was killed, and his family members were injured by some unidentified attackers.

Reportedly, the criminals stopped the vehicle in which Singh was travelling to Patna, and shot 30 rounds with an AK-47.

Singh received 11 bullets and was rushed to a private hospital, where they declared him dead.

He had many criminal cases registered against him.

LJP leader's family contested in elections

Brijnathi Singh's family had contested against Lalu Prasad Yadav's family. His wife had contested against Rabri Devi in the 2000 polls. His son, Rakesh Singh, had contested independently in the last Assembly elections against Lalu’s son, Tejaswi Yadav.

A BJP leader and a leading cement trader, Kedar Singh was murdered in the district of Saran, on 12 February.

The police called it a crime involving personal rivalry.

According to the police, the deceased was on a motorcycle when he received three bullets, shot by unidentified criminals.

The police recovered his body which was reportedly dumped near the Gandar Bridge.

The Vice President of Bihar BJP, Vishweshwar Ojha was killed on 12 February, in the Bhojpur district of Bihar.

Returning from a wedding, he was in his SUV along with his driver and another person, when he was allegedly shot four times by masked gunmen.

Vishweshwar Ojha, 45, had contested unsuccessfully in the last Assembly poll, from the Shahpur constituency.

Nitish Kumar held three-day high-level meeting

The Bihar CM held a high-level meeting in Patna to control crime and make the 'Law and Order' more firm in the state. Ironically, two BJP leaders were killed on the last day of the meeting.​

Chirag Paswan, a Lok Janshakti Party leader, blamed the Bihar government for the murder of 3 NDA leaders within a week.

He accused the state government saying that the murders were a part of the political fight against the leaders of NDA.

He demanded an answer from the Bihar CM for the killings or Bihar would be put under the President's rule.

Bhojpur police arrested one person and detained five others for questioning, a day after unidentified men killed BJP's state vice-president Visheshwar Ojha.

Ond Harendra Singh and several others have been named as accused in the FIR lodged in connection with the murder of Ojha.

Police added that based on investigations, a team had been sent to UP's Balia district in search of suspected assailants.

The Lok Janshakti Party demanded imposition of President's Rule in Bihar over "deteriorating" law and order situation in the state.

The Ram Vilas Paswan-led party also demanded a CBI probe into the killing of the BJP leader Visheshwar Ojha.

An LJP delegation, led by Paswan, will meet Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and called for 'Shahabad bandh' to protest against the killing of Ojha.
