Andhra Pradesh's special status demand led to TDP-NDA fallout
Andhra Pradesh was split in 2014. During a discussion on the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill, former Prime Minister had said, "Special category status will be extended to the successor state of Andhra Pradesh for a period of five years."
But, BJP said 14th Finance Commission doesn't give special status to the state.
This led to TDP exiting the NDA family in March 2018.
