Rahul Gandhi finally breaks silence over #MeToo

Breaking his silence and coming out in favor of the #MeToo campaign, Congress President Rahul Gandhi said on Friday that it's time everyone learns to treat women with dignity.

He, further, added he was glad to see that there was no space anymore for those who don't respect women.

"The truth needs to be told in order to bring about change," he tweeted.

When Minister of State for External Affairs MJ Akbar was named by several women for sexual misconduct, Gandhi was asked about his take on the movement and on the allegations against Akbar.

Rahul then said, "MeToo is a very big issue. I will comment on it in a further press conference."

Narendra Modi led government has maintained a stoic silence on the Akbar issue.
