After Gandhi was given the top post, she came at the receiving end of a vitriolic attack. The trolls must have assumed they would get away but Surajnath's case serves as an example.

His post dated January 30 prompted social activist Shaheen Syed to file a complaint.

Syed wrote an email to Economic Offence Unit (EoU) and also shared details of Surajnath's Twitter account.

Arrest

Surajnath was arrested from Katihar

The cyber cell of police acted on Syed's complaint and registered a case on February 2. The case was registered under Sections 420/29 (A) and IT Act 67.

Subsequently, Surajnath was traced to Katihar and district police arrested him. He was produced before a magistrate and sent to judicial custody.

Meanwhile, BJP district chief Manoj Rai claimed Surajnath had no association with the party.
