Gambhir installs CCTV cameras to 'focus' on Kejriwal's false promises

Gautam Gambhir, who started his new innings as a politician with a bang, has got down to work.

The cricketer-tuned-politician, who won polls from East Delhi constituency, recently got CCTVs installed in his area to check crime.

While informing people about the same, Gambhir took a jibe at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal saying one of the cameras will "focus" on his false promises.

Now, installing CCTV cameras was one of the promises which Gambhir made. He had released a 24-points vision document ahead of elections and struck a chord with voters.

As a result, he trumped Aam Aadmi Party's Atishi Marlena and Congress' Arvinder Singh Lovely. He won by a margin of 3 lakh votes.

The BJP leader's latest exercise shows he intends to keep his promise.

Gambhir installed CCTV cameras for women's safety

Through a tweet, Gambhir informed that he has started the task of installing CCTV cameras in his constituency.

This will ensure the safety of women and also help in curtailing crime, he added.

Thereafter taking a swipe at Kejriwal, whom he referred to as muffler wale sir ji, Gambhir wrote one camera would keep an eye on his lies.

Apparently, company installed CCTVs voluntarily after Gambhir requested them

After Gambhir put out the tweet, several supporters of Kejriwal started trolling him.

To put an end to it, Gambhir wrote another tweet revealing that Hawkeye Systems installed the CCTVs voluntarily.

"CCTV installation is a voluntary gesture by Hawkeye after I had requested them. Some constructive criticism please," Gambhir's tweet read.

He also attached a letter from the organization.

To recall, Gambhir's constituency witnessed a bitterly-fought election, more so after a demeaning pamphlet related to Atishi was allegedly circulated in the area.

AAP held a press conference where it claimed that Atishi was being maligned and called Manish Sisodia's "keep" at Gambhir's behest.

Furious over the allegations, Gambhir had asked Kejriwal and his allies to prove his involvement or face consequences.

Findings

AAP claimed pamphlets were distributed, media reports claimed otherwise

While AAP wanted to milk the pamphlet row, it only spelled trouble for the party. Many news channels visited the area to understand if locals received the pamphlets, but most of the residents answered in the negative.

Their stories contradicted AAP's version that the piece of paper was heavily distributed.

After the dust settled, voters got a clear picture and they made a choice.
