According to porn website PornHub's recently released report, citizens of Hawaii started or resumed watching porn right after the news of a ballistic missile heading towards the state turned out to be false.

The island state in the US had received the mistaken alert last Sunday on January 14.

The website has released some statistics regarding its viewing pattern for that day.

PornHub said that the website's viewership fell abruptly at 8:07 am, right after the missile alert notification was sent out. By 8:23 am, about 77% of the website's traffic had dropped below average.

However, when an official clarification was issued at 8:45 am, the traffic on the porn website climbed back up. By 9:01 am, PornHub's page views rose 48% higher than average traffic.

Notably, Hawaii's Emergency Management Agency's cyber security branch was criticized for mistakenly raising a false alarm of this nature.

According to media reports, the alert went off due to the mistake of a staffer who selected a wrong option in a certain dropdown menu.

The agency later confirmed that the state was not under attack.
