OPPO's new sub-brand Realme launched its first smartphone Realme 1 in India last week.
It will go on sale at 12pm today exclusively via Amazon.
It is priced at Rs. 13,990 for the 6GB RAM/128GB variant and Rs. 8,990 for the 3GB RAM/32GB variant.
In a month, the "Made in India" smartphone will also be launched in a 4GB RAM/64GB variant for Rs. 10,990.
The phone comes in diamond black and solar red colors.
It comes with a free screen guard and case. Jio users can get a discount of up to Rs. 4,850 on the phone and there is also a 5% cashback on purchasing it through an SBI card.
Users can also get 80% off (up to Rs. 300) on their first Kindle e-books.
The USP of the phone is that, on the back, it sports a glossy shell with a polygonal design, giving a diamond-like reflective effect on the cover.
Positioned in the mid-range market segment, Realme 1 will compete with Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 and Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1.
The Realme 1 features a 6.0-inch full HD+ LCD display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, 3,410mAh battery, 13MP primary camera, and 8MP front camera.
It is powered by a 2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P60 processor and runs ColorOS 5.0 based on Android 8.1 Oreo.
The phone has a triple SIM slot and sports an 84.75% screen-to-body ratio.
The phone features AI battery management that can automatically close background apps that aren't in use.
Its security features allow users to hide apps and set passwords on them.
The smartphone has sustained 10,000 drop tests, 1,00,000 button tests and 10,000 USB tests.
Its AI-powered camera can recognize 296 facial spots and features support for Bokeh mode and AR stickers.
The Realme 1 smartphone does not come with a fingerprint sensor and relies on face and passcode/pattern unlock. With face unlock, it takes less than 0.1 seconds to open. Sporting a fibre-glass body, the phone also features an AI Board assistant.
