Latest round of leaks for Google's Pixel 3

According to fresh leaks and rumors, Google's upcoming Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones will feature Active Edge, which lets users squeeze short the frame of the device for ease of use, and wireless charging support.

More importantly, these major leaks have been accidentally confirmed by Google itself, as reported by web Android forum XDA Developers.

With Active Edge, users can easily perform functions like launching Google Assistant and silencing alarms, timers, notifications, and incoming calls. It is also the fastest way to search anything on the web.

A member of XDA Developers claimed to have a prototype Pixel 3 XL smartphone, which Google later confirmed to be the real deal.

He confirmed that Active Edge worked on the model.

Wireless Charging

Google had discontinued wireless charging from Nexus 6P onwards

The XDA Developers' member has also informed that the prototype device features an all-glass back instead of the aluminum and glass combination in the predecessor.

Further, the code of Android P developer preview features references to wireless charging docks.

Wireless charging was present on Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 6, and Nexus 7 (2013) smartphones, but was discontinued in 2015 with the Nexus 6P.

The other leaks of the Pixel 3 XL suggest the presence of a notch-based display, dual front cameras, a speaker/earpiece module, and a slight chin at the bottom which houses front-facing speakers.

On the back, the Pixel 3 XL will reportedly sport a single rear camera.

The phone will have a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and no audio jack.

Google is expected to launch 3 Pixel variants this year

According to reports, Google is working to launch three Pixel smartphones in 2018. These devices have been codenamed "crosshatch", "albacore", and "blueline." Notably, codename "crosshatch" has been spotted on the leaked images of the alleged Pixel 3 XL.
