HMD Global is expected to launch the Nokia 6.1 Plus - the rebranded version of Nokia X6 - in India today.
The company's first smartphone to embrace the in-trend notch, the Nokia 6.1 Plus will be sold exclusively via Flipkart.
The launch event will begin at 12:10pm and will be live streamed on the company's official Facebook page.
Here's more on this development.
Yesterday, Flipkart teased the two mobiles on its website using the hashtag #TwoOfAKind. And today, Nokia India has posted two identical holders reading "coming soon".
Both teasers suggest the Nokia X6 and the recently unveiled Nokia X5 may launch in India as Nokia 6.1 Plus and Nokia 5.1 Plus, respectively.
Both the phones are identical looking with a notched display and dual-rear cameras.
Given Nokia 6.1 Plus is a rebranded version of Nokia X6, it will retain the same specifications and design.
It will get a notch-based display, a prominent chin and a vertically positioned dual rear camera setup - a design seen on the Nokia X6.
It may feature a 5.8-inch full-HD+ (1080x2280 pixels) display with a 19:9 aspect ratio and 2.5D Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
Nokia 6.1 Plus will sport a dual rear-camera setup with a 16MP f/2.0 sensor, 1-micron pixels, and a 5MP monochrome sensor.
On the front, it will get a 16MP camera with f/2.0 aperture and 1-micron pixel sensor.
The phone may also get AI integration to offer optimized color contrast, depth of field, portrait lighting effects, face recognition, HDR and Nokia's Bothie feature.
The phone will be powered by Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor, paired with 4GB/6GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of inbuilt storage which is expandable up to 256GB via microSD card.
Moreover, the Nokia 6.1 Plus will run Android Oreo 8.1 stock version, supporting dual-SIM (Nano) cards and may pack a 3,060mAh battery that would support Quick Charge 3.0 technology.
Though with an impressive 84% screen-to-body ratio, the Nokia 5.1 Plus, much like Nokia X5 features a rather chunkier notch with a thick chin, noticeable bezels, and a polycarbonate frame.
The rear would get a glossy-looking glass panel with a fingerprint sensor mounted below the dual camera setup.
The phone features a 5.86-inch HD+ (720x1520 pixels) display with a 19:9 aspect ratio.
Nokia 5.1 Plus is expected to come with a dual rear camera setup comprising a 13MP primary sensor with an f/2.0 aperture and a 5MP secondary sensor, along with an LED flash module.
Up front, the phone would come with an 8-megapixel sensor with an f/2.2 aperture and 80.4-degree wide angle view.
It will also support AI-powered photography features such as portrait background blur and portrait skin mode.
The phone will be powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P60 processor, paired with 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 256GB via microSD card. It will run stock Android Oreo 8.1 and pack a 3,060mAh battery.
