5 privileges of being a WhatsApp group admin
With the increasing number of fake messages spreading on WhatsApp groups these days, WhatsApp is, understandably, focusing on giving more power to the group admins. In essence, they are being made more accountable.
Obviously, it controls/restricts the group members' activities - from sending unnecessary good morning texts, fake messages or dangerous rumors.
Here are 5 privileges only a WhatsApp group admin enjoys.
Add and Remove members, the first right
As is common knowledge, only the admins can add members into a group.
This 'Add Participants' feature is available since the launch of WhatsApp groups, and Group admins can add anyone from their own contact list.
Similarly, the 'Remove from Group' feature can also be used just by the admin.
They can tap and hold a member's profile to remove him/her from the group.
Admins can restrict group messages
Recently, a new setting has been added in WhatsApp which lets the admin decide who can send messages in the group.
They can restrict the group members to send messages. In that scenario, it is just a one-way communication where only admins can send texts.
Not only does it reduce unnecessary noise, but can also potentially stop the spread of wrong information.

Admins can also restrict 'Edit Group Info' rights
In line with above, an admin can also restrict the group members from editing group information like group's name, profile picture or description. The 'Edit Group Info' tab in the Group Settings allows the admins to enable this feature.
Admins can create and revoke group links
To add more participants to the group, it is not always necessary for the admins to save the contact numbers.
Instead, they can create group links and share them with people to add them to the groups.
Further, the admins can also prevent someone from entering the group by revoking or blocking the link.
Admins can add more admins
Interestingly, WhatsApp groups can have any number of admins.
Admins can make the existing participants as other admins of the group, and then they can also enjoy the same privileges.
Similarly, admins can remove other admins from the group by long-tapping on their profile and select "Dismiss as Admin".
