HMD Global releases Android Pie update for Nokia 5.1 Plus
HMD Global has started rolling out the latest Android Pie update for its recently launched Nokia 5.1 Plus.
The update comes with a file size of about 1.2GB and will be rolled out in a phased manner via over-the-air method.
Notably, the update brings all the new features of Android Pie along with the latest security patch.

What's new in the update?
With the latest update, the Nokia 5.1 Plus gets new gesture-based navigation, an updated Settings menu, and a revamped notifications panel.
According to the official changelog shared by a user, this update also brings several other features such as Adaptive Battery, adaptive and optimized brightness levels, predictive application actions, and the Google security patch for the month of December.

Meanwhile, here's recalling the Nokia 5.1 Plus
Up front, there's an iPhone X-like notched display with slim bezels but a slightly chunkier chin.
On the back, there's a glass panel, which houses a fingerprint sensor and a dual camera setup.
Interestingly, there's 2.5D curved glass on both sides with a premium-looking high gloss finish.
Further, the Nokia 5.1 Plus features a 5.86-inch HD+ (720x1520 pixels) display with a 19:9 aspect ratio.
For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers
Nokia 5.1 Plus sports a dual rear-camera setup comprising a 13MP primary sensor with an f/2.0 aperture and a 5MP depth sensor, along with an LED flash module.
Up front, the phone gets an 8MP sensor with an f/2.2 aperture and 80.4-degree wide angle view.
Further, there are AI-powered photography features such as bokeh blur and portrait lighting.
Under the hood
The Nokia 5.1 Plus is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P60 processor, paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 400GB via microSD card.
The phone runs stock Android Oreo 8.1 as part of Google's Android One program and packs a 3,060mAh battery with 5V/2A fast charging.
Connectivity options and sensors onboard
In terms of connectivity options, the phone includes support for dual-SIMs (Nano), 4G VoLTE (Cat. 4), Wi-Fi 802.11a/c, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/A-GPS, USB Type-C (v2.0), and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The Nokia 5.1 Plus has an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope and proximity sensor.
Notably, the phone also has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
