Honor 10 Lite v/s Huawei Y9: 2019's best budget smartphone
In India's over-crowded and price sensitive mid-range smartphone segment, Chinese tech giants Huawei and Honor have launched their respective affordable handsets.
But which one should you buy?
Here's our spec-to-spec comparison.
At a glance
Up front, Huawei Y9 gets a wider display cutout whereas the Honor 10 Lite adopts the smaller waterdrop notch. However, both the phones feature an edge-to-edge display, slim bottom bezel and glass-like rear-panel (3D design on the Honor handset).
On the back, both of them house a vertically-stacked dual rear camera setup and a fingerprint scanner.
Winner: Honor 10 Lite for its bezel-less design.
All about the screen

In terms of software, Honor's offering runs on the latest Android Pie-based EMUI 9 whereas the Huawei Y9 runs an older generation of Android Oreo-based EMUI 8.2.

In terms of connectivity options, both the handsets support dual-SIMs, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Micro USB, and GPS/A-GPS/GLONASS among others.
In terms of battery power, the Honor 10 Lite has a 3,400mAh battery whereas the Huawei Y9 packs a bigger 4,000mAh battery.
