Samsung has launched its budget-range smartphone, the Galaxy A2 Core, for Rs. 5,290 in India.
The tech giant has introduced the device as the successor to Galaxy J2 Core which was launched in August last year.
The smartphone features a quad HD display, long-lasting battery, dedicated expandable storage, a front-and-rear camera, and entry-level internals.

The Galaxy A2 Core sports prominent bezels up front while the back looks clean with a single rear camera.
It offers 5-inch quad HD (960 * 540 pixels) display with a 16:9 aspect ratio and a pixel density of 220ppi.
In the camera department, the phone offers a 5MP (f/1.9) rear camera capable of recording videos at 1080p and a 5MP (f/2.2) selfie camera.

The Galaxy A2 Core is powered by the Exynos 7870 processor coupled with 1GB RAM and 8GB/16GB of internal memory which is expandable up to 512GB via micro-SD card.
The smartphone packs a 2,600mAh battery and runs on Android 8.1 Oreo (Go edition).
Notably, Android Go operating system is optimized for low-end budget phones with 1GB of RAM or less.

In terms of connectivity options, the Galaxy A2 Core supports dual-SIMs with 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and Hotspot.
The smartphone comes equipped with GPS/A-GPS, GLONASS, micro-USB port and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Further, Galaxy A2 Core offers all standard sensors such as an accelerometer and proximity sensor. However, it lacks a fingerprint scanner.

The Galaxy A2 Core comes with a price tag of Rs. 5,290 in India and it is already available for purchase via retail stores. The smartphone will compete against Xiaomi's Redmi Go which carries a price tag of Rs. 4,499.
