Opera GX: What makes this 'gaming browser' different
This year at Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), renowned internet company Opera unveiled a dedicated browser for gamers - Opera GX.
The platform comes with a specific set of features, including memory limiting capabilities, to complement your gaming experience while getting the most out of browsing at the same time.
Here's what makes it different from other internet browsers.
Limit memory and CPU usage
While most browsers are seen as memory suckers, Opera GX comes with performance optimization capabilities to let you run programs/games, smoothly.
The browser has a control panel, which you'd be able to use to limit how much RAM and processing power the browser could use. The option would also have a hard limit option to restrict memory usage even when performance is affected.
Assortment of gaming-related updates on new tab
Along with memory control, Opera GX also brings updates from the gaming arena.
Essentially, when you open a new tab of the browser, it will present you with an assortment of news from gaming and tech beats.
The tab would also show information about the new and interesting releases as well as deals on popular titles.

Gaming-inspired design with Twitch integration
Opera GX builds on the design of the original Opera browser with gaming-inspired elements.
The interface of the browser features dark black colors with red accents, just like a dedicated gaming PC, and gaming-inspired sound effects created by sound designer Rubén Rincón and the band Berlinist.
Notably, there is also a sidebar for quick access to different settings and services, including Twitch.
All popular Opera features will stay
Along with gaming-focused features, Opera GX would also include capabilities that are present in the main Opera browser such as free VPN access, built-in ad blocking, and PiP mode for video streaming.
