Design and display
Redmi 7A: At a glance
In the times of punch hole displays and all-screen designs, the Redmi 7A looks very much like a budget offering with its conventional display and prominent bezels.
On the rear, the matte-finished polycarbonate body houses a single camera while missing out on a physical fingerprint scanner.
Further, there is a 5.45-inch display with a resolution of 720x1440 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9.
For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers
The Redmi 7A offers a single 12MP (f/2.2) Sony IMX486 rear camera with LED flash and PDAF lens. The primary camera comes with features such as AI Beauty, Auto HDR, Low-light enhancement and Burst mode.
Xiaomi will also bring a Scene Detection feature via an over-the-air update in the coming days.
Up front, there is a 5MP selfie camera which supports AI Face Unlock.
Under the hood
The Redmi 7A is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 chipset, coupled with Adreno 505 GPU, 2GB/3GB RAM and 16GB/32GB storage (expandable upto 256GB).
Under the hood, it runs on Android Pie-based MIUI 10 and packs a 4,000mAh battery which supports 10W fast-charging.
Lastly, the phone comes with all standard sensors and connectivity options including dual-SIM support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, FM, and micro-USB port.
Pricing and availability
The Redmi 7A costs Rs. 5,999 for the 2GB/16GB variant and Rs. 6,199 for the 2GB/32GB model. However, as part of an introductory offer, Xiaomi is offering a Rs. 200 discount on both models.
The phone will go on sale on July 11 (at 12 pm) via Flipkart, Mi.com, and Mi Home stores. It will also be available through offline retail stores in future.
