Google is working on the next iteration of its mobile software. Currently dubbed as Android Q, the operating system is expected to release sometime in Fall.
Here's our compilation.
These Huawei phones will receive Android Q update
Back in May, Huawei confirmed the names of all the smartphones that would receive Android Q update.
These smartphones are the Huawei Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20X, Huawei Mate 20RS Porsche Design, Huawei P30, and Huawei P30 Pro.
The company had also announced that Honor V20 (View 20) and Honor Magic 2 would also get the new update.
These Honor Phones will also get Android Q update
Separately, last month, Honor had confirmed that its Honor 20 series, which comprises the Honor 20 Pro, Honor 20, and Honor 20i, would receive Android Q.
Huawei, Honor phones will get Android Q with EMUI 10
Notably, Huawei will roll out Android Q with its next iteration of EMUI, the company's native skin. Considering that the latest phones ship with Android Pie-based EMUI 9, we can expect the Android Q-based update to be called as EMUI 10.
Huawei is likely to announce the new EMUI version at its annual developer conference which will be hosted in China from August 9-11.
Meanwhile, here are some highlights of Android Q
Until now, Google has released five beta versions of Android Q which bring better privacy and permissions controls, improved sharing shortcuts, support for foldable devices, and several tweaks to notifications panel.
Further, it will also include support for a Face ID-like facial recognition system, a built-in screen recorder, improved navigation gestures, system-wide dark mode, newer emojis, and a desktop mode.
