OnePlus is set to launch the T-version upgrades to its OnePlus 7-series smartphones later this month.
According to recent leaks, the standard OnePlus 7T will arrive with a new 2K 90Hz display and triple rear cameras, making it an attractive alternative to the low-cost iPhone 11 which has been refreshed with a new camera system and industry-leading processor.
But, which one should you buy?
The iPhone 11, with a wide display notch, an aluminum frame, and glass back, retains the design of its predecessor, the iPhone Xr. The phone also continues to offer IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.
The OnePlus 7T, on the other hand, is said to offer a familiar waterdrop notched screen and a metal-glass sandwiched body with no certified water-resistance.
Winner: You decide.
The iPhone 11 sports a 6.1‑inch LCD display with a 828x1792 pixel resolution at 326ppi pixel density. It also supports wide color display (P3) and Haptic Touch.
In comparison, the OnePlus 7T is tipped to offer a 6.55-inch AMOLED display with 2K resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, and a marginally smaller screen cut-out.
Winner: OnePlus 7T for its sharper display and high refresh rate.
The iPhone 11 gets an upgraded dual-lens rear camera setup comprising a 12MP (f/1.8) main sensor and a 12MP (f/2.4) ultra-wide-angle lens with 120-degree field-of-view.
The OnePlus 7T is expected to get a 48MP (f/1.6) main sensor, a 12MP telephoto lens with 2X optical zoom and a 16MP ultra-wide-angle sensor with a 120-degree field-of-view.
Winner: OnePlus 7T, going by the specs on paper.
The iPhone 11 offers an upgraded 12MP (f/2.2) selfie snapper with support for upto 4K recording at 60fps, 1080p slo‑mo video support at 120fps, and a bunch of interesting software-based features. The OnePlus 7T is likely to offer a 16MP front-facing camera. Winner: iPhone 11.
The iPhone 11 is powered by an A13 Bionic chipset, paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB/128GB/256GB of storage. It also packs stereo speakers and all the latest connectivity options.
The OnePlus 7T is tipped to come with the Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset, 8GB RAM, 128GB/256GB of UFS 3.0 storage, and dual stereo speakers.
Winner: OnePlus 7T for its higher RAM and faster storage format.
The iPhone 11 packs a 3,110mAh battery with 18W wired fast-charging support (adapter not included in the box) and Qi-based wireless charging. In comparison, OnePlus 7T is said to house a 3,800mAh battery with 30W wired charging.
Further, the low-cost Apple flagship comes with improved Face ID while the OnePlus handset will ship with an optical in-screen fingerprint sensor.
Winner: You be the judge.
The iPhone 11 starts at Rs. 64,900 for the 64GB variant and goes upto Rs. 79,900 for the 256GB variant. The OnePlus 7T is expected to arrive at a starting price of Rs. 32,999 - same as the OnePlus 7.
With an upgraded camera system, faster processor, and a cheaper price tag than its predecessor, the iPhone 11 has just the right amount of everything to get you into the world of iOS.
However, if you are not averse to Android, the upcoming OnePlus 7T, with its 2K 90Hz display, enhanced camera system, and top-tier internals will be hard to beat.
Winner: OnePlus 7T.
