Amid the growing excitement surrounding iPhone 9 aka iPhone SE 2, a new video showing the alleged device has surfaced on Chinese social network TikTok.
However, a close look at the clip suggests it is fake, and the handset in question is actually an iPhone clone that runs an iOS-like launcher.
Here are the finer details.
First off, the leaked 'iPhone 9' doesn't match with renders
The alleged iPhone 9 model in the video reveals an iPhone 8-like design with thick top and bottom bezels, a single rear camera, Touch ID home button, and a Lightning port at the bottom.
However, the handset has flat sides like the iPhone 4-series, 5-series, and iPhone SE, instead of a curved metal frame we saw in the leaked case designs and renders.
Then, the handset seems to be running on iOS 12
Another important thing to notice is the alleged iPhone 9's software. The home and lock screen wallpaper is from iOS 12 and even the UI doesn't feel like iOS 13's.
It is obvious that the new iPhone will run on the latest software version. Hence, this handset in question could be a modified/custom iPhone or a clone Android handset running some iOS-like skin.
Meanwhile, here's a look at iPhone 9's expected specifications
The iPhone 9 aka the iPhone SE 2 is expected to come with a 4.7-inch HD+ LCD screen, single rear camera, and Touch ID home button. It will be backed by an A13 Bionic chipset, the same flagship processor that powers iPhone 11 range.
Further, the handset is expected to get 3GB RAM, 64GB/128GB of non-expandable storage, and will run on iOS 13.
iPhone 9 could be priced at $399
According to rumors, the iPhone 9 is expected to be launched on March 31 at a starting price of $399 (around Rs. 28,500). Notably, this is the same price at which the original iPhone SE made its debut in March 2016.
