The Pokémon Company has just released a new game and to everyone's surprise, it's about the most offbeat Pokémon- Magikarps.
The new game with these iconic fish Pokémon, titled 'Pokémon: Magikarp Jump' is all about nurturing and training them to grow. It's currently available for iOS and Android users.
Here is all about the perfect game to keep you occupied through the summer.
Pokemon fever continues, this time with Magikarps
Rather unusual choice of Pokémon
Magikarp is particularly known for its weak and unreliable nature and is pretty much the weakest in the Pokemon troop. Despite that, it has always managed to garner the love and admiration of the fans worldwide and the result is its own video-game spin-off Pokémon: Magikarp Jump.
The game features easy controls and an addictive storyline to attract players of all ages.
Here's how it goes
The gameplay basically goes like this - you have to tap on the foods that appears on the screen to feed your Magikarp and then complete the jump training throughout the levels.
The Magikarp finally retires on level 20 after successfully completing several challenges and then a descendant takes its place, which is stronger than its predecessor.

The social media inclusion should help
The game gets more interesting, as players get to fish several variations of Magikarps, including the ones featuring patterns on their skin, which if they want they can even share on the social media.
The added bonus would be that other Pokémons, such as Pikachu or Piplup will also make special appearances in the game to help the Magikarp grow.
Pokémon Go Adventure Week just ended
Recently Pokémon Go had its mega event Pokémon Go Adventure Week, where the players were given some incredible advantages.
During the week the price of Poke Balls was slashed by 50% and the most exciting feature for the fans was that the Rock-type Pokémons (more effective than others and rare to appear) appeared more than ever in the game.
Cheaters never get far
Recently it was discovered that many players were using cheat codes to make it easier to find Rock-type Pokémons in Pokémon Go and Niantic found the perfect solution to punish them.
Niantic has rolled out a security measure, where the players, who cheat in the game don't come across rare, lucrative Pokémons at all and all they can find are the common Pokémons.
