The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has received more than 20 bids for the media rights of the Indian Premier League.

As per reports, the Invitation To Tender (ITT) has been bought by more than 20 companies, with deadline still more than 10 days away.

The bidders include media giants from all over the world.

Auction postponed to 1st September

The auction for the IPL media rights, which was earlier scheduled for 28th August, has now been postponed to 1st September citing taxation matters and impending bank holidays.

According to a news report, Star India, Amazon Seller Services Pvt Ltd, Sony Pictures Networks India, Reliance Jio Digital, Yahoo, Facebook and ESPN Digital Media are some of the companies which have bought the ITT for IPL's media rights.

With such giants in the race for grabbing the media rights, the BCCI is expected to earn a huge sum of money from the auction.

Hearing on 'e-auction' pending in SC

The Supreme Court will hear the petition by BJP's leader Subramanian Swamy to have e-auction for the media rights of the IPL. Swamy had filed a petition saying that e-auction will bring transparency in the process.
