England's all time goal-scorer Wayne Rooney was arrested by police near his home in Cheshire, on Thursday night, on the suspicion of drunk driving.
The Everton striker, who announced his retirement from international football career last week, was reportedly detained overnight.
Everton football club, and the Cheshire Police have so far declined to comment on the matter.

Days after his arrest for drunk-driving on 1 Sep, Everton forward Wayne Rooney has pleaded guilty of the charge.
He was also asked to pay £170 at the Stockport Magistrate' Court where he appeared.
