Indian eves thrash Thailand in Asia Cup

The Indian women's cricket team raced to a 66-run victory in their 2nd match of the T20 Asia Cup, being held at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

They kept Thailand (66/8) at bay to successfully defend a 133-run target.

Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur led from the front to hand India their 2nd victory of the tournament.

After bowling Malaysia out for 27 in the first encounter, the Indian eves had Thailand on the mat as they restricted them to 66/8 in 20 overs.

The likes of Poonam Yadav (1/15), Pooja Vastrakar (1/5) and Deepti Sharma (2/16) supported Harmanpreet (3/11) in a stupendous manner.

From the very beginning, India tightened the screws on Thailand and there was no respite.

It was a superb show by the women's team skipper Harmanpreet with both bat and ball.

With India not getting the perfect start, it was skipper Kaur who got them to a decent 132/4.

She hit a 17-ball 27 run-knock to propel India in the end.

Her innings was laced with three fours.

She then bowled spiritedly and got three crucial wickets.
