The veteran has suffered a third injury in less than a year's time.

Faf is set to miss the upcoming ODI series against Zimbabwe starting September 30.
He isn't rushing a comeback from injury owing to the ICC World Cup 2019 to be held in England.
South Africa will also square up against Australia for ODI series in November.

His tryst with injuries
Faf du Plessis underwent a surgery on his shoulder last year and came back early to play against India this year in the Test series.
Post the 2-1 victory, he broke his finger during the 1st ODI against Virat Kohli's men.
He then took part in the Indian Premier League 2018.
He recently helped the Proteas to clinch the ODI series against Sri Lanka.
