Anjum Chopra received an honorary lifetime membership of Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC).

She became the first Indian woman cricketer to receive the membership.

Honoured with membership, she said that it feels good to see her name alongside the biggest names of the game.

Along with Chopra, former cricketers Virender Sehwag and Zaheer Khan also received the MCC memberships.

Anjum Chopra is a former Indian woman cricketer. She is a left-handed bats-woman and bowls right-arm medium fast.

In February 1995, she made her ODI debut at the age of 17 against England. In the same year she also made her test debut against England.

She won her first 'player of the series' award in her second series itself.

Anjum Chopra became the first Indian woman player to score a century in an ODI match.

She was appointed as the captain of the Indian women's cricket team in 2002 and white-washed England team 5-0 in a home series.

She is also the first Indian captain to win a test series overseas.

Anjum is the first woman cricketer to commentate on men's cricket matches.

Awards and honours

Anjum Chopra was presented with the Arjuna Award in 2007. She was also honoured with India's fourth highest civilian award, the Padma Shri in 2014.
