Sania Mirza did not contact us: AITA

WADA website hacking scandal

All India Tennis Federation has denied any contact from Sania Mirza or her mother for looking into the matter of doping charges against American tennis players.

Sania Mirza posted a picture of the letter by AITA which says that neither Sania nor her mother contacted AITA regarding any issue of the WADA.

General Secretary of AITA said that Sania's father has approached AITA.

Russian group hacks WADA data base; leaks confidential information

A group of hackers, claiming themselves as "Fancy Bears" hacked website of World Anti Doping Agency (WADA) and leaked confidential medical information about players.

The hackers posted the data on their website which contained information about American athletes who were found guilty of using banned drug during the Rio Olympics.

WADA confirmed the news saying "the hacks are carried out to undermine WADA."

Williams sisters, Biles named in the leaked list

American tennis stars Serena and Venus Williams have been named in the list leaked by the hackers for using banned substance that are used to treat muscle soreness. Gymnast Simone Biles has also been named for the same.

In a statement, Venus Williams said that she was disappointed that her medical records were published without her permission.

She also said that she has always followed the rules of Tennis Anti-Doping Program.

Venus was diagnosed with Sjogren's syndrome in 2011 which made her use banned substances for recovery. However, she had obtained therapeutic use exemptions which is not regarded as doping.

Sania Mirza's family approach AITA

Indian tennis star Sania Mirza's family has reportedly approached All India Tennis Association demanding action against those accused of doping. Mirza, along with Rohan Bopanna had lost to Venus Williams and Rajeev Ram in the semi-finals of mixed doubles event at Rio Olympics.
