India took their lead to 339 runs on day three in the second test at Kolkata against New Zealand.

As India came to bat after wrapping New Zealand at 204 runs, India lost six wickets for 106. Rohit Sharma partnered with Wriddhiman Saha to put 100 runs before Sharma got out at 82.

At the end of day three India was at 227/8.

India faces New Zealand in the second test at Kolkata

After winning the first test of the three matches series at Kanpur, world's number two test team India faces New Zealand in the second test match of the series.

Shikhar Dhawan and Bhuvaneshar Kumar have been named in the playing XI for India. Gautam Gambhir, who was selected in the place of injured KL Rahul was not selected in the team.

The second test match between India and New Zealand at Eden Gardens, Kolkata is India's 250th test match being played at home. So far, India has won 88 test matches, lost 51 and 109 were draw. One test match ended with a tie.

New Zealand wrapped up India's first innings at 316 with Wriddhiman Saha remaining not-out at 54.

As the hosts came on to bowl, Mohammad Shami and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar gave India an early breakthrough.

New Zealand was at 85/4 when rain interrupted the play for more than two hours.

As the day finished, New Zealand lost seven wickets for 128 runs; Kumar picked five wickets.

India wins second test match against New Zealand

India defeated New Zealand in the second test match on the fourth day.

Chasing a target of 376, New Zealand were bowled out at 197 by the Indian bowlers. Tom Latham scored 74 runs for NZ.

India has won the test series 2-0 with one more match to go.

At the same time, India also regained number one spot in the ICC test rankings.

Wriddhiaman Saha named 'Man of the Match'

Kolkata's very own Wriddhiman Saha was named 'Man of the Match' for his knocks in the two innings and amazing wicket-keeping. Saha remained not out in both the innings, scoring 54 in first and 58 in the second.
