Sony is witnessing massive success with its PS4 consoles and has recently begun to allow cross-platform play. This is expected to further increase its popularity.
However, it is also trying to ride the wave of retro gaming popularity with its PlayStation Classic, which is a redesign of the original gaming console.
Now, Sony has announced the list of all 20 games for the console.
The PlayStation Classic is 45 percent smaller than its original model.
This plug and play console will officially hit the stores on December 3 and will be priced at around $100. However, it is available for pre-order now.
The PlayStation Classic will come with two controllers but will not be able to run any other games apart from the 20 that Sony has listed.
The complete list of playable games include- Battle Arena Toshinden, Destruction Derby, Cool Boarders 2, Grand Theft Auto, Final Fantasy VII, Jumping Flash, Metal Gear Solid, Intelligent Qube, Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee, Mr. Driller, Rayman, Resident Evil Director's Cut, Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo, Revelations: Persona, Syphon Filter, Ridge Racer Type 4, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six, Wild Arms, Twisted Metal and Tekken 3.
The Playstation Classic lineup is.....okay. System has so many gems.— The Great Clement (@ClementJ64) October 29, 2018
No Crash, no Spyro, no Parappa, no Medievil, no Mega Man? Ape Escape? Legend of Dragoon? FF Tactics? Tomba? Bushido Blade? Parasite Eve? Legacy of Kain? No Tomb Raiders even.
When you can only pick 20 games...
Sony's list of games is comprehensive with some absolute classics.
The retro wave of consoles is succeeding precisely because gamers love to revisit to old school games they grew up on.
Sony's game list will serve to remind them of the original PlayStation which launched in the US in 1995 and became the fourth best selling console of all time, selling 102.4 million units.
