Rohan Bopanna crashes out of 2016 China Open men's doubles

India's Rohan Bopanna along with his Canadian partner Daniel Nestor crashed out of the 2016 China Open in Beijing after losing in the first round of the men's doubles event.

The third seeded Indo-Canadian pair lost to Spanish duo Rafael Nadal and Pablo Carreno Busta in straight sets 6-7, 4-6 in a match that lasted around one hour and 30 minutes.

Second seeded Rafael Nadal moved to the second round of the 2016 China Open after defeating Paolo Lorenzi, the current number one from Italy.

Nadal won the match in straight sets 6-1, 6-1.

David Ferrer defeated Pablo Cuevas of Uruguay to reach the second round 6-4, 7-6(7-3).

British tennis player Kyle Edmund also reached the second round after defeating Spain's Guillermo Garcia-Lopez 6-3, 6-2.

WomenVenus Williams showed the door in first round

United States' tennis player Venus Williams crashed out of the 2016 China Open in the very first round.

She was defeated by China's Peng Shuai in straight sets 7-5, 6-1. Williams exited from the top 10 in the world rankings.

World number one Angelique Kerber moved into the second round after registering a win over Katerina Siniakova. Kerber won the match 6-4, 6-4.

Paes bows out too

The Indo-German pair of Leander Paes and Andre Begemann lost in the first round to American-Australian pair Jack Sock and Bernard Tomic. The wild card entry pair of Paes and Begemann went down 6-3, 5-7, 7-10.
