#AUSvIND: Pujara's solidity helps India gain substantial lead

Pujara and Kohli add 71-run stand for 3rd wicket

Cheteshwar Pujara was solid once again for India with a well made 40*. He added a defining 71-run stand for the third wicket with Indian captain Virat Kohli (34). Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Nathan Lyon picked one wicket each.

Fantastic Lyon asks many questions

Fantastic Lyon asks many questions

If one bowler, who continuously troubled the Indian batsmen and deserved more than just one wicket, it was none other than Nathan Lyon.

The ace spinner asked many questions and almost had Pujara out twice.

But DRS saved the Indian batsman, after he was adjudged LBW and caught behind.

Lyon, who pitched the ball in the right areas, got the crucial wicket of Kohli.

Rahul, Vijay waste good work with poor shots

KL Rahul did all the hard work this time around and after being watchful for a while, his arms opened up.

He got to his trademark self and scored 44.

Also credit to Murali Vijay for sticking around and helping the team add 63 runs for the 1st wicket.

But the duo once again fell prey to their bad habit of chasing wide balls.

Pujara once again the mainstay of Team India

Pujara once again the mainstay of Team India

Pujara banked on his superb form and was the mainstay of the side.

India lost two quick wickets in a space of 13 runs and Pujara made sure he was watchful till the end of the day.

Like the first innings, the right-handed batsman once again seemed patience and resisted any sort of temptations.

Unlike Rahul and Vijay, the character of Pujara was telling.

Pujara was given out twice to Nathan Lyon. Once it was LBW and the other was off an appeal of being caught behind. Both the times the umpire raised his finger and Pujara, who used the DRS on both occasions, survived the calls.
