While most Indian WWE fans grew up watching WWE icons like Hulk Hogan, The Undertaker, and Stone Cold rock the WWE stage, and imagined themselves headlining WrestleMania, some have really gone ahead and fulfilled their dreams.
To be an Indian and make it in WWE is a huge challenge.
Let us talk about five Indian wrestlers who were/are a part of the WWE roster.
Gama Singh was signed by McMahon in the early '80s, when the WWE Chairman was looking for an Indian wrestler who would perform in the company's tours in Middle Eastern countries.
Singh performed in countries like Kuwait, Dubai, Oman, Australia and Hawaii, mostly in WWF house shows.
He has also toured with New Japan Pro-Wrestling and performed at TNA's Impact Wrestling.
Kavita Devi is currently signed with WWE NXT and became the first-ever Indian woman to sign with WWE.
The former South Asian Games gold medalist has also seen WrestleMania action when she participated in the All Women's Battle Royale.
Devi, who earlier wrestled in the independent circuit has been trained by The Great Khali.
Devi also took part in the 2018 Mae Young Classic.
Jinder Mahal's influence on WWE has been huge, as he became the first Indian ever to win the WWE Championship, which he did after beating none other than Randy Orton himself at Backlash 2017.
He held the WWE title for long before finally losing it to AJ Styles.
Mahal was a part of a WrestleMania 34 match, where he won the United States Championship.
When Khali first made his appearance in a SmackDown episode, it was to challenge none other than the legendary Undertaker, whom he knocked out with one big blow to his head.
The highest point of his WWE career came when he managed to win the World Heavyweight Championship in a 20-man battle royale after knocking out legends like Kane and Batista together.
Akam is a member of the stable called Authors of Pain, and was also the Raw and NXT tag-team champion at one point.
He currently performs on Raw and made his debut defeating Heath Slater and Rhyno in a tag-team match.
The Authors of Pain also defeated huge WWE stars like Seth Rollins and SmackDown tag-team champions Cesaro and Sheamus.
