#IndiaInAustralia: All-rounder Marnus Labuschagne joins Australia's 14-member squad
The Australian cricket team suffered a massive 137-run defeat against India in the third Test match held at the MCG.
Tim Paine's side trail India 1-2 in the four-match series and the focus will be on the hosts to avoid further humiliation in Sydney.
Australia have bolstered their squad with 24-year-old all-rounder Marnus Labuschagne.
Here are the details.
Marnus has been added to the squad: Paine
The addition of the player to the squad was confirmed by skipper Paine in the post-match press conference, following his side's defeat at MCG,
The Aussies need to win the Sydney Test that starts from January 2, 2019.
"Marnus has been added to the squad. What we're hearing is it's probably going to spin quite a bit," said the Aussie skipper.
Mitchell Starc's position in the side under threat
Labuschagne could replace all-rounder Mitchell Starc in the Sydney Test.
Marsh has failed to live up to expectations and failed with both bat and ball in the third Test.
One expects Labuschagne to come in at number six and add some vitality.
With the Sydney pitch expected to assist spin, the inclusion of the player makes sense.
