#GamingBytes: PUBG bans 12 professional players, here's why
PUBG offers one of the most competitive Battle Royale experiences due to the tactical military approach of the gameplay.
As a result, the eSports scene in PUBG is pretty difficult. However, one would expect professional gamers to play ethically in these competitions.
Despite expectations, PUBG has now banned 12 professional players for cheating in the PUBG Europe League Qualifiers.
Read about it here.
Using a radar hacking, cheaters were caught: Reports
Although PUBG Corp. has not officially revealed details about the program used for hacking, reports suggest that radar hacking was used.
This uses a VPN (virtual private network) to read data packets that are sent between the game and the servers.
Radar hacking gives gamers an unfair tactical advantage by letting them know the location of other players and items in the game.
Despite difficulty in detection, developers find conclusive proof
Despite the hack being difficult to detect, PUBG Corp. has carried out a thorough investigation.
It has come to the conclusion that the evidence for each ban holds water.
Further, it clarified that it had no reason to assume that the accounts of the cheaters had been borrowed or hijacked at the time, the radar hack was used in the game.
The punishment fits the crime for PUBG cheaters
PUBG Corp. has punished cheaters based on the severity of cheating.
Six players using the hack in professional and public games are facing a three-year suspension. Two members who 'were fully knowledgeable about their team-mates' using the hack in PUBG European League Qualifiers are also facing the same punishment.
Four players who used the hack in public games only are facing a 2-year suspension.

A hacking method that is difficult to detect
While the radar hack gives cheaters an unfair advantage it is also extremely smart due to the difficulty of detection surrounding this technique. Since the hack does not actually involve reading game files, it is difficult for developers to catch players using it.
