Murray shared pictures of himself as well as his hip's X-ray, where a metal plate has been placed.
It remains to be seen whether Murray decides to call off his retirement plans after he recuperates from the surgery.

In a press conference before the Australian Open began, Murray announced to the world that he would retire after the tournament.
His wish was to end his career after taking part in the Wimbledon Open which starts from July 1 and ends on July 14.
He has enough time to pick himself up and try to make it to England in time.

Injury derailed Murray's career
The former world number one men's tennis player underwent surgery on his right hip last year.
Since then, Murray has managed to play just 14 matches after making a return in June.
He had to withdraw from the China Open in September.
The Scot had looked short of confidence and fitness in the open practice games earlier.
Murray played a gruelling match in the Australian Open
Despite his pain, the Scot participated in the Australian Open, but was knocked out in the first round itself.
Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut defeated the three-time Grand Slam winner in a physically challenging five-setter match.
Murray did manage to equalize after being down for two sets, but could not clinch victory in the end.
Agut won the match 4-6, 4-6, 7-6, 7-6, 2-6.
