IPL 2019: Here's what RCB's playing XI might look like

Royal Challengers Bangalore will look to make it count in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The Virat Kohli-led side has a decent squad and is expected to deliver better performance this term, after some vital additions in the auction.

Earlier, we had analyzed the strengths and weaknesses of this squad and now here is the predicted playing XI of RCB.

Top order

Which players will constitute the top order?

Which players will constitute the top order?

Veteran wicket-keeper batsman Parthiv Patel is set to don the opener's hat.

He had scored 153 runs in six matches last season. Parthiv could be joined by skipper Kohli.

With RCB not having many options atop, Kohli fits in perfectly, as he has opened for RCB earlier. AB de Villiers will come in at number three.

The Proteas batsman will bring the aggressiveness required.

Middle order

Powerful West Indian youngster Shimron Hetmyer is the ideal player to come in and take hold of the middle order.

He has been among the runs and can clear the fences at will.

Kiwi all-rounder Colin de Grandhomme is a powerful batsman and his big-hitting prowess could aid RCB.

Shivam Dube will come at number six and brings stability. He can be the finisher.

Left-arm spinner Pawan Negi is suited for number seven position. He is quite handy with the bat.

Negi will be joined by India's premier wrist-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal at number eight. Chahal is RCB's best bet with the ball.

Tim Southee brings immense value and experience. He can handle pressure situations well.

Indian pacers Umesh Yadav and Mohammed Siraj fill in the last two slots.

Squad analysis

Squad analysis of RCB going into IPL 2019

RCB do not have depth in opening, so both Parthiv and Kohli need to be in top gear.

The middle order of RCB looks strong as the franchise made some good acquisitions this term.

Akshdeep Nath and Milind Kumar would add depth from the bench.

Chahal and Umesh are genuine wicket-taking bowlers and their bowling will revolve around these two.
