Pro-wrestling: The five strangest endings in the history of wrestling

WWE or any other professional wrestling company books its matches in a manner which makes the ending interesting as well as dramatic.

However, not all matches go according to plan, and some have remained in public memory just because of how weirdly the match ended.

So here, we bring to you the five weirdest match endings to have ever happened in pro-wrestling.

Halloween Havoc '98

Halloween Havoc '98 goes off air

A match between Goldberg and DDP was scheduled to main-event WCW's Halloween Havoc in 1998.

The entire show was quite boring and fans became tired of the event when it finally reached its last match.

However, since the three-hour slot provided to WCW had ended, the feed was cut automatically and those at home could not even see the match.

WCW later apologized.

Original screwjob

A screw-job 12 years before Montreal

Wendi Richter was a huge star during the early 80s and was trying hard to get a better deal for herself as she earned $25/show.

However, WWE did have a plan for her, and made her lose to someone called 'Spider Lady' and hand over her title to the latter.

Richter took off Spider Lady's mask to find it was Fabulous Moolah instead.

Chairman decides the end of a highly-anticipated match

At Royal Rumble 2005, John Cena and Batista were the last two men standing, and a botched up move made them land outside the ring at the very same moment.

While referees took sides with either Cena or Batista, McMahon came out to settle the matter.

And in another unscripted moment, he legitimately tore his quad while ordering for the match to be restarted.

Fingerpoke

The Fingerpoke of Doom

On the night when Mick Foley was set to win the WWE Championship, which WCW believed pre-announcing would make people switch to Monday Nitro, they themselves should have put up better matches.

Instead, they announced a match between Hogan and Kevin Nash, in which the latter went down with a slight poke from Hogan to reunite the NWO.

Thus began WCW's downfall

The Montreal Screwjob: McMahon betrays The Hitman

Montreal is the hometown of Bret Hart and it is where McMahon double-crossed him in real life.

Hart was facing Shawn Michaels for the WWE Championship in Survivor Series when during the match McMahon suddenly instructed the referee to call for the bell to ring, ending the match in Shawn's favor.

Hart was shocked and left WWE for World Championship Wrestling, WWE's rivals.
