India-England 5th test match - Updates!

After a quick couple of wickets, England's Moeen Ali and Joe Root stabilized the scored with a 146-run partnership in the fifth test against India at Chennai.

While Root was caught at 88, Ali remained unbeaten at 120. Jonathan Bairstow put on a fine 49 runs before he was caught by KL Rahul.

England has put 284 runs on board, losing four wickets.

The final test match of the five match test series between India and England started from 16 December at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

The hosts have already sealed the series 3-0 and would like to continue their extra-ordinary performance at their favorite stadium.

England's Liam Dawson became the fifth debutant of the series after he was selected for the fifth test against India. Haseeb Hameed, Keaton Jennings, Jayant Yadav and Karun Nair have made their test debuts during the series.

England's captain Alastair Cook achieved another milestone during his India tour.

With a couple from the first ball at Chennai, Alastair Cook crossed 11000 runs mark in test cricket. He became the first England player and 10th overall to do so.

Cook has also played the most number of tests for England and has scored 30 centuries, another high for any England player.

Starting their day from 284/4, England went on to score 477 runs on day two of Chennai test match.

Moeen Ali scored 146, while Adil Rashid and Liam Dawson each scored half-centuries.

Ravindra Jadeja was the most successful bowler for India, picking up three wickets for 106 runs.

India had scored 60 for no loss as the play for day two ended.

Lokesh Rahul led from the front on day three of the Chennai test, scoring 199 runs, to put India in a strong position against England. Rahul was accompanied by Parthiv Patel, who scored 71 runs.

India put 391 runs on board losing four wickets. Karun Nair is on pitch at 71 runs along with Murali Vijay, who is playing at 17.

Karun Nair became the second Indian batsman to score 300 runs in test cricket after Virender Sehwag.

Nair scored 303* in Chennai test match against England.

He is the first Indian batsman to take his maiden test century to a double ton and then to a triple.

Passing 750 mark, India also put its highest score in test on board.

India took all the ten wickets in last two sessions on day five of the fifth test against England to win the series 4-0.

Ravindra Jadeja took seven wickets as India won by an innings and 75 runs, with only half an hour play remaining on the last day of the match.

Jadeja finished the match with a total 10 wickets.
