Azhar Ali's 71, Younis Khan's 65, Asad Shafiq's 137 runs helped Pakistan in chasing the mammoth score.

However, Mitchell Starc picked four wickets and Jackson Bird got three to bundle out Pakistan at 450.

Both the teams will play three test matches and five ODI matches, first test starting from 15 December 2016 at The Gabba in Brisbane.

After two back to back series losses against Sri Lanka and South Africa, Australia will look to bounce back in the series.

Hosts Australia put on 429 runs on scoreboard in the first innings of Gabba Test with the help of skipper Steve Smith and Peter Handscomb's centuries.

Smith scored 130 while Peter was bowled-out on 105 runs. Earlier, Matt Renshaw had 71 runs.

Mohammad Amir and Wahab Riaz, each picked up four wickets for the visitors. Yasir Shah gave away 129 runs, picking up two-wickets.

Pakistan's cold reply to Australia's massive score

Pakistan were bowled out in the first innings of Gabba Test after the Australian pacers created havoc for the visitors. Sarfraz Ahmed was the highest scorer of the innings with 59 runs.

2nd innings

Australia set up a target of 489 runs for Pakistan

Steven Smith's 63 and Usman Khwaja's knock of 74 helped the hosts set a target of 490 runs for the visitor.

Batting in the second innings, Australia scored a total of 202 before declaring their innings.

Rahat Ali picked up two of the five wickets Australia lost.

The hosts gave the visitors a session and one day to chase the target.
