IPL: Delhi Capitals replace injured Harshal Patel with Jagadeesha Suchith

Delhi Capitals have brought in Karnataka spinner Jagadeesha Suchith as a replacement for injured pacer Harshal Patel for the remainder of their IPL 2019 campaign.

Patel had suffered a fracture in the right hand during the game against Kings XI Punjab on April 1.

This injury has ruled him out for three to four weeks.

Notably, DC have enjoyed a decent outing so far.

Although it initially did not seem serious, but scans have revealed that Patel suffered a fracture in his right bowling hand against KXIP.

It would take him three to four weeks to heal, bringing his IPL 2019 stint to a premature end.

Patel just managed to play a couple of games for the side, where he claimed two wickets at an average of 38.50.

Ideal choice

Suchith an ideal choice on Delhi's slow track

Suchith began his IPL career in 2015 with Mumbai Indians.

He has played 14 games for the side across two seasons, claiming 10 wickets at an average of 36.8.

He has an economy of 8.98, while his best spell being 2/14.

Although these stats don't look impressive, things could very well change for him on the slow track of Kotla.

The 25-year-old young lad is known for being an effective slow left-arm orthodox spinner.

Further, he is also deemed to be a handy batsman down the order.

Suchith and Delhi eye Hyderabad rout

As Suchith prepares for his new chapter in the IPL, Delhi get set for a tough clash against former champions Sunrisers Hyderabad.

The Orange Army, who have a deadly squad, especially batsmen like Jonny Bairstow and David Warner, would be wary of this new guy.

However, it is not sure yet if Suchith would get a spot in the XI right away.
