PUBG and Fortnite are cult-favorite titles with millions of players.
Both follow the basic Battle Royale rules of parachuting in a location, collecting weapons and being the only survivor(s) to win.
The games are often compared because they bring their own distinct charm to a familiar premise.
Let us compare the two games and understand why Fortnite is a tad better for Indian gamers.
Both PUBG and Fortnite released in 2017. The games were well received and played an integral part in establishing Battle Royale as a genre.
Across platforms like Windows, PlayStation, XBOX, iOS, and Android, PUBG has more than 400 million players, while Fortnite has 200 million.
Visually, PUBG is realistic and war-like, suitable for mature players while Fortnite is bright and colorful (suitable for kids).
This is where the two games differ the most.
In PUBG, you kill opponents with scavenged weapons to remain the last one standing, as the 'playzone' keeps on shrinking over time.
Fortnite adds to this, construction elements, which give defensive advantages according to usage.
Death is imminent in both games but with PUBG, players have to be extra cautious of multiple campers.
Fortnite has a younger community and is great for beginners. The gameplay is relaxed but not too easy. So, it works for everyone.
PUBG has mature themes and thereby a community of older players. It can get tense and quite competitive at times.
As far as in-game customizations go, the games are equal. Fortnite, however, can be more creative at times.
PUBG has multiple maps, Fortnite has one.
PUBG releases new maps while Fortnite is constantly updated with new stuff.
Both have various melee weapons, health kits, explosives, and guns that include assault rifles, SMGs, Shotguns, Pistols and more that can use attachments and differ in terms of damage.
The weapons of Fortnite are goofy, hilarious.
In PUBG, players bleed. In Fortnite, they lose points.
Fortnite is free to download and play, unlike PUBG. It is easier to learn, has more relaxed gameplay, fewer campers, and a younger player community.
Its weapons have little to no recoil and with construction elements, it adds a secondary strategic layer to the game.
It is overall an eye-pleasing game that doesn't lag much. Also, where else will you see Thanos flossing?
